Exercise and manual therapy are just the tip of the iceberg!

When addressing the pelvic floor, exercise and manual therapy are essential foundations. Exercises focused on pelvic and hip strengthening, core work, pressure control, and overall body mechanics can help many clients achieve most or all of their goals. Manual interventions support this process by increasing blood flow, improving range of motion, and reducing trigger points, creating the conditions for healing and function.

But often, more is needed—because humans are complex and require a holistic approach.

  • Building awareness is often the first step. Many people don’t even realize they have a pelvic floor, or how every breath influences it. Building this mind–body connection helps you notice your pelvic floor in daily movements and functions, which lays the groundwork for healing and strengthening.

  • Nervous system regulation is key, since the pelvic floor is directly connected to how our body responds to stress and safety.

  • Education empowers clients—knowledge is power.

  • Supplements and tools - sometimes clients may need to take supplements, manage their diet or utilize tools (such as wands, dilators) to make true progress.

  • Collaboration with other specialists may be necessary to fully meet someone’s needs.

  • And for some, the work goes deeper into releasing shame, addressing trauma, and reconnecting with the body—all of which profoundly affect the pelvic floor.
